Falkland Islanders insist they will stay 'part of the UK family'
after Argentina's new leader Javier 'El Loco' Milei vowed to
'get them back' - and say 'we'll live in freedom under the
government of OUR choice'
Mark Pollard, chair of the Falkland Islands Legislative Assembly,
said the Falklands were 'British' and the territory's sovereignty
was 'non-negotiable'
. . .
Argentina has been making noises about a 2nd try at
grabbing the Falklands for a number of years now.
The new more-nationalist, slightly nutso, prez seems
to see this as a priority.
Problem : the UK can't afford to - and I fear does not
have the Thatcher heart to - defend the Falklands yet
again. It DID put a large-ish naval base on one of
the islands, but I don't think it can be of much help
if its supplies are cut off.
"Rule Britannia" has become "Bend-Over Britannia" and
King Chuckie is a Wokie consumed by 'historical
guilt' and all that destructive left-wing BS. Momma
would NOT be amused ......
SO - my official prediction ... The Falklands become
the Malvinas within two years. It will NOT be a good
thing for the residents.
Now the SAD bit ... the Falklands are NOT of much
importance - strategic or resource-wise. It's just
a group of small, cold, wet, islands out in the
ocean where sheep outnumber people and there
really ain't THAT many sheep. The islands have
the dubious fate of being a "national pride"
issue for two countries. Argentina sees them
kind-of like China sees Taiwan and the UK sees
them as one of the remaining staples of Old
Empire/identity.
