Supermarkets urge against panic buying as Government launches
'preppers' website - warning families to start a national
crisis 'emergency kit' of tinned food, batteries and bottled
water

. . .

Um ... what's UP here ???

Clearly the govt is WORRIED - maybe that it cannot
respond well in case of natural disasters, but maybe
because it's afraid of war with Russia.

Now everybody SHOULD keep a sort of minimal "supplies"
inventory, ya never know, but usually the State is
not the one cheering this on.

The UK is really kind of BROKE, worse than broke.
It cannot seem to maintain its existing infrastructure
and systems any more. The "leaders" - of ALL parties -
are a total joke, shouldn't be the asst manager of
a fast-food joint. They just get by on "free money"
promises, but can't deliver even that in most cases.

Good advice, I have all that plus some.
Water filter is a nice thing too.
Have some month of emergency food for on a boat.
Solar panel to charge your radio or flashlight batteries
plus a large battery pack,
Have several solar panels and 250 Ah lipo battery pack
with a 12 V to 230 V 50 Hz pure sine wave converter too,
nice to run the fridge to keep some food cool and the microwave runs on it too,
as does a cooking plate and water boiler.

An other thing is radiation, geiger counter, gamma spectrometer,
iodine pills in case Russia hits your nuclear power plants.
Maybe I should get a rubber boat too in case a dike here breaks...
I did consider a desalinator for sea water a while back...
am close to the sea behind a dike.
Needs a lot of power and is expensive..
climate change, no rain? use seawater?
